Phat Kids DH Race Series

This fun beginner-style race for children ages 7 to 15 on green and blue trails is a perfect intro to downhill racing. For an additional cost, DFX coaches will be available to escort your child to the top of the course, provide some advice and cheer racers on. Art on the Lake 2018: Illuminated - Create Compelling Light in Your Paintings

This 2-day workshop focuses on seeing and rendering accurate values and colours to create precise relationships within your painting to render the effects of light. Students start the session working from photo reference. Then, in the studio, some small study exercises are practiced as a way to hone the skills necessary to achieve the effects of light on canvas. Weather permitting, we will paint outdoors focusing on colour composition and finished field sketches. Overall, you will learn colour mixing, design, outdoor painting logistics, and other practical techniques to improve light in your paintings. Although this workshop is geared to those with painting experience, all experience levels are welcome. Cost for the class is $300 or $275 for Arts Whistler Members. 5 Peaks Trail Running Series

Running over rocks, roots, tree stumps, and logs, up ski hills, hiking trails, through puddles, mud, snow and much more. These courses take people off road and into the hills. The Whistler race will be held in the upper alpine of Blackcomb Mountain. Navigate through some steep climbs, sharp descents and craggy wilderness trails. Whistler Blackcomb has brought together some of Whistler’s foremost innovators for an Educational Speakers Series. These mountain-themed presentations are complimentary for PEAK 2 PEAK 360 Ticket and Passholders and are located in the Samsung Theatre in the Rendezvous Lodge on Blackcomb Mountain. All talks start at 12:30 PM and are 45-60 minutes long.

Summer Biathlon Series

From experienced biathletes to those interested in trying biathlon for the first time in a fun and welcoming environment, the Summer Biathlon Series is a great way to participate in a biathlon without the snow. The Summer Biathlon Series contains two separate categories: a competitive rollerskiing category for experienced biathletes, and a recreational category featuring running, mountain biking or long boarding. Everyone is welcome to participate in the recreational categories and no prior biathlon or firearms experience is required. Entry fee is $25 for adults and $20 for 18 years of ages and under with an additional cost of $10 if registering the day of the event.
